SESI College of Education

Teacher training that arises from practice and evolves with it

The SESI Faculty of Education was born out of a commitment to excellence in teacher training
and the conviction that education is an essential force for social transformation. With an innovative training proposal, the institution seeks to consolidate itself as a national and international reference in initial and continuing teacher training, articulating academic knowledge, pedagogical practice, and a permanent commitment to the reality of Basic Education.

The degree courses are organized by area of knowledge: Pedagogy, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, and Physical Education, and are structured around an interdisciplinary approach connected to the demands of contemporary schools. This curricular organization ensures a solid and integrated education that combines theoretical foundations, methodological mastery, and the development of professional skills essential for critical, creative, and socially committed teaching.

With an extended workload (4,420 hours) and a curriculum developed in constant dialogue with schools, SESI College of Education reaffirms its commitment to training teachers who are prepared to improve teaching practices, strengthen basic education, and contribute to high-quality, inclusive, and socially relevant education.

Educational Residency

The Educational Residency is one of the main training pillars of the SESI Faculty of Education and promotes the systematic integration of students into the daily life of schools from the first year of their undergraduate studies. Throughout the course, students work 10 hours per week in public and SESI-SP basic education schools, with pedagogical support and teacher supervision.
This continuous experience, integrated into the curriculum, enables permanent contact with the reality of schools, promoting the articulation between theory and practice. Unlike traditional internships, the residency allows students to progressively participate in observation, planning, pedagogical interventions, and guided reflection, contributing to the development of professional skills and the construction of a solid, critical teaching identity aligned with the contemporary challenges of education.

Future Teacher Passport

In line with its social commitment, the SESI Faculty of Education has developed the Future Teacher Passport Program, aimed at ensuring access to and retention in higher education for students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability.
The program grants a monthly scholarship in the amount of the current minimum wage, linked to the completion of 10 hours per week of mandatory activities, which do not conflict with the Educational Residency workload. By supporting student retention, Passaporte Futuro Professor reaffirms the institutional commitment to equity, social justice, and the value of teacher training, enabling teacher training students to fully dedicate themselves to their training and the development of critical and consistent teaching practices.
